Zinc Blend  - A Natural Alternative

We made our Zinc blend with protective oils and non-nano (reef-safe) zinc oxide - it is NOT FDA approved and has no SPF rating. Our Zinc blend is is hand-crafted with premium oils and ingredients that have been reported to have UVA and UVB blocking ingredients, including organic red raspberry oil and meadowfoam seed oil, then mixed with non-nano zinc oxide to create a physical barrier desired in such lotions.

Hand Made Natural Zinc Lotion Bar

We started making our solid lotion bars as a great way to carry your favorite Brigid scents and lotions in a low-waste, portable form that won't spill. Made only with natural, real oils, butters, and beeswax, our lotion bars really are 100% natural. Solid lotion bars weigh in at a minimum of 1.5 ounces each, and come in an eco-friendly aluminum storage tin.

How Does It Work?

While our Zinc blend should not be considered a sunscreen and has no SPF rating, we carefully crafted it with ingredients proven in external laboratory tests to offer some sun protection and repair qualities for the skin:

• Red Raspberry Seed Oil is widely reported as a likely source of naturally high SPF, with reports showing it shields skin from both UVA and UVB rays
• Zinc Oxide is widely used in commercial and mineral sunscreen products for its ability to physically block both UVA and UVB rays; we use non-nano Zinc Oxide, meaning our Zinc blend is not absorbed into the skin, and is safe for coral reefs
  
• Meadowfoam Seed Oil is reported to not only contain natural SPF qualities, but its effect on the skin is said to make skin cells more resilient to free radical damage. It is also reported to aid in healing from existing sun damage by serving as an emollient (creates a protective layer and seals in moisture)

How Do I Use It?

Simply warm the lotion bar against skin, rubbing gently to soften and release the oils. We use a balanced blend of oils and butters to ensure it does not leave a heavy or oily feeling behind. A little goes a long way!

Yes, this will go on white! Non-nano zinc sits on top of the skin as it is not absorbed, which for many is part of its appeal. You will need to rub in to make transparent, and reapply as needed, such as after exposure to water.
