Zinc Blend  - A Natural Alternative

We made our Zinc blend as an alternative to similar commercial products. This Zinc-infused lotion is hand-crafted with premium oils and ingredients that have been reported to have UVA and UVB blocking ingredients, including red raspberry oil and meadowfoam seed oil, then mixed with non-nano zinc oxide to create a physical barrier between you and the elements.

We started making our solid lotion bars as a great way to carry your favorite Brigid scents and lotions in a low-waste, portable form that won't spill. Made only with natural, real oils, butters, and beeswax, our lotion bars really are 100% natural. Solid lotion bars weigh in at a minimum of 1.5 ounces each, and come in an eco-friendly aluminum storage tin.

How Does It Work?

While our Zinc blend should not be considered a sunscreen and has no SPF rating, we carefully crafted it with ingredients proven in external laboratory tests to offer some sun protection and repair qualities for the skin:

• Red Raspberry Seed Oil is widely reported as a likely source of naturally high SPF, with reports showing it shields skin from both UVA and UVB rays
• Zinc Oxide is widely used in commercial and mineral sunscreen products for its ability to physically block both UVA and UVB rays; we use non-nano Zinc Oxide, meaning our Zinc blend is not absorbed into the skin, and is safe for coral reefs
  
• Meadowfoam Seed Oil is reported to not only contain natural SPF qualities, but its effect on the skin is said to make skin cells more resilient to free radical damage. It is also reported to aid in healing from existing sun damage by serving as an emollient (creates a protective layer and seals in moisture)
