What Is Green Man?

From carved stones all over Europe and beyond, a face peers out: the Green Man, an ancient symbol of the Wild Man, one of humankind's oldest symbols for our connection to the wildness of nature. Traditionally coming forth from the forest on Beltane, the Wild Man is an ancient symbol of fertility.
